The advantage we offer our clients in power purchases comes through the arrangements we have with dozens of Retail Electric Providers (REP) and our expertise in negotiating with these providers on behalf of our clients. Any REP will naturally attempt to sell directly to customers at the highest price they believe they will be able to win that customers business with. When working through the reverse auction process used by Eisenbach Consulting, an REP is forced to offer the lowest price they feel they can offer and still remain profitable. We've seen the difference in price between these two approaches amount to over 4 cents/kwh.

A second and extremely powerful tool we use with our clients is our knowledge of which power products and providers may be specifically suited to our clients. There are a variety of ways to buy power in Texas that, depending on a client's power consumption, offer significant cost advantages over the alternatives. An agriculture operation may consume power in the evening, but not have a high enough load to justify the utility installing a meter that reads usage every 15 minutes. We would offer that client the solution of installing a 15 minute "IDR meter" so that they are able to take advantage of their off-peak load, thus reducing their costs by as much as 40%.
